The Canadian Youth Business Foundation (CYBF) and Enterprise Greater Moncton (EGM) have an on-going partnership to offer mentorship, learning resources and business start-up loans to aspiring young entrepreneurs aged 18-34 in the Greater Moncton area. EGM is one of 34 existing CYBF sites across Canada serving 362 local communities.

An official launch to rejuvenate this partnership will take place on Wednesday September 29 from 4pm to 7pm at the Crystal Palace located at 499 Paul Street in Dieppe. Special guests include Mayor Clarence Sweetland, Town of Riverview; Ms. Katherine Barnes, Deputy Mayor of the City of Moncton; and Councilor Francis Leblanc, Town of Dieppe. Two successful Moncton based CYBF clients, Jason Murray of Skate to Snow and Ken Leblanc of PropertyGuys.com, will also speak about their experiences as young entrepreneurs.

"Enterprise Greater Moncton is very pleased to welcome the Canadian Youth Business Foundation to our region," stated Valerie Roy, director. "Young people who dream of entrepreneurship can really benefit from the start-up financing, mentorship, information and learning resources that the CYBF provides. Canadian Youth Business Foundation programs provide alternatives to, or complement, other financial tools and programs coordinated by Enterprise Greater Moncton. For this reason, we are happy to be one of eleven regions in Atlantic Canada to support their initiatives."

EGM’s mission is to provide leadership to enhance the quality of life and harmonious well being of the people of the Greater Moncton area through sustainable economic development. Greater Moncton is known for its entrepreneurial culture. Greater Moncton’s new business start-ups since the early 1990’s has outpaced the rest of Atlantic Canada

“We have had an on-going partnership with EGM for the past six years,” comments Vivian Woytiuk, CYBF CEO. “Over that time we have assisted a number of aspiring young entrepreneurs in the Moncton area. We hope this event will help to build a renewed awareness for the services we offer to young people with entrepreneurial aspirations.”

CYBF offers young entrepreneurs start-up financing up to $15,000 with the support of a business mentor. The business mentor increases the likelihood of the entrepreneur’s success through the transfer of experienced business knowledge. Training and support are provided for the mentoring relationship as well as the young entrepreneur’s business.
