Local Young Entrepreneur Receives Provincial Award
Summerside PEI - April 12, 2005
The Canadian Youth Business Foundation (CYBF), Canada's leading organization dedicated to the success of young entrepreneurs, is pleased to announce the 2005 Prince Edward Island Best Business award recipients - Don Boucher of D.C Tire Sales & Services Ltd. in Summerside.
Launched in May 2002 with assistance from CYBF, D.C Tire is a complete one-stop tire store. They deal in passenger, light truck, commercial, industrial and farm tire repair and replacement. Mobile service is provided 24 hours a day. In the three years since they have opened, D.C Tire has grown from a staff of one tire technician to the presence of three positions to serve the increasing demand. They have also recently doubled equipment supply to provide customers with the best service in a fast and friendly atmosphere.
"CYBF has helped greatly by working with me on the preparations leading up to the opening of my business, comments Boucher. Without their start-up loan and technical support I don't think it would have been possible to open the doors."
Ten provincial award recipients will vie for the national Best Business award, which carries a cash prize of $20,000. The announcement will be made live at the annual CYBF Young Entrepreneur Awards Gala on May 24, 2005 at the Westin Harbour Castle hotel in Toronto.
"For the first time CYBF is showcasing ten provincial Best Business recipients - presenting the true diversity of youth entrepreneurship across Canada, comments CYBF CEO Vivian Woytiuk. As a national organization with our offer available coast-to-coast, it is important for CYBF to acknowledge these businesses and to provide an opportunity for Canadians to see the talent this country can produce with the right focus. We are supporting the next generation of business leaders by helping youth help themselves."
