Technology savvy young entrepreneurs awarded for their fast growing company
Dartmouth NS - April 12, 2005
The Canadian Youth Business Foundation (CYBF), Canada's leading organization dedicated to the success of young entrepreneurs, is pleased to announce the 2005 Nova Scotia Best Business award recipients - Jeff Levy and Julian Taylor of Sunsel Systems Manufacturing Corp. in Dartmouth Nova Scotia.
Launched in May 2004 with assistance from CYBF, Sunsel Systems is a contract manufacturer of electronic products focusing on circuit board assemblies for OEM's (original equipment manufacturers) using high-tech assembly equipment. In their last six months of operation, Sunsel Systems has generated over 1/2 million in sales, has grown from a team of two to seven employees and has provide services for more than a dozen manufacturing companies within Canada.
"One of the stipulations of receiving a loan through the bank was to have a loan through CYBF, comments Taylor. Without prior business history, you need someone to say yes - that is where CYBF has made a real difference for us."
Ten provincial award recipients will vie for the national Best Business award, which carries a cash prize of $20,000. The announcement will be made live at the annual CYBF Young Entrepreneur Awards Gala on May 24, 2005 at the Westin Harbour Castle hotel in Toronto.

"For the first time CYBF is showcasing ten provincial Best Business recipients - presenting the true diversity of youth entrepreneurship across Canada, comments CYBF CEO Vivian Woytiuk. As a national organization with our offer available coast-to-coast, it is important for CYBF to acknowledge these businesses and to provide an opportunity for Canadians to see the talent this country can produce with the right focus. We are supporting the next generation of business leaders by helping youth help themselves."
