Young entrepreneurs awarded for their innovative approach to real estate
Moncton NB April 12, 2005
The Canadian Youth Business Foundation (CYBF), Canada’s leading organization dedicated to the success of young entrepreneurs, is pleased to announce the 2005 New Brunswick Best Business award recipient PropertyGuys.com from Moncton New Brunswick.
Launched in September 2000 with assistance from CYBF, PropertyGuys.com offers home sellers a no commission, low cost alternative to expensive real estate commissions while allowing consumers to stay in control of the process. Young entrepreneurs Ken LeBlanc, Jeremy Demont, Dale Betts and Walter Melanson opened their business as a part time venture with four employees. Now five years later PropertyGuys.com has grown into a national franchise system with over 37 franchise units and over 110 full and part time employees.
“While the initial loan amount offered by CYBF may seem like a minimum amount of money to some, this seed loan was instrumental in our success, comments president Ken LeBlanc. Without the injection of capital from the CYBF loan I would dare say we would not exist as we are today.”
Ten provincial award recipients will vie for the national Best Business award, which carries a cash prize of $20,000. The announcement will be made live at the annual CYBF Young Entrepreneur Awards Gala on May 24, 2005 at the Westin Harbour Castle hotel in Toronto.
“For the first time CYBF is showcasing ten provincial Best Business recipients presenting the true diversity of youth entrepreneurship across Canada, comments CYBF CEO Vivian Woytiuk. As a national organization with our offer available coast-to-coast, it is important for CYBF to acknowledge these businesses and to provide an opportunity for Canadians to see the talent this country can produce with the right focus. We are supporting the next generation of business leaders by helping youth help themselves.”
