- Begin discussion with stakeholders:
- Business partners
- Spouse
- Family members*
- Employees and managers
*You may wish to hire an outside consultant to interview family members that have a stake in the company.
- Establish a starting point:
- Understand your financial position by assessing both your asset base and your liabilities
- Develop an advisory team:
- Accountant
- Lawyer
- Banker
- Insurance Broker
- Write a plan:
- Personal and Business Objectives

- Prepare for sale, by maximizing value of company
- Implement Plan
- Review and Modify Plan as needed. Revisit plan once per year. `
